As I’m plowing through my training with flying colors and truly putting all my CNA skills to practice, I’ve also now added tubal feeding, administering medications and giving breathing treatments and am finding myself very comfortable with all of the above. An added bonus is I get to practice my spanish with Maria…word. Like I mentioned before it’s almost like I’ve been training my whole life on so many different levels and for so many reasons and literally had no idea that that’s what I was doing. I learned the art of trach-suctioning many moons ago so that was like riding a bike and while tubal feeding is new to me, I picked up where I left off as far as breathing treatments are concerned because I used to give myself breathing treatments back in Colorado.
It’s crazy when I think about how far I myself have come medically. I was on like four different medications three years ago and now I’m on none. What’s even crazier is I’ve worn glasses my whole life and now I don’t need ’em. When I had my physical a few weeks ago the nurse was impressed with the fact that I used to wear glasses and now I could read the bottom line of the eye chart with no hesitation and no problems. I was surprised too to be quite honest.
It’s been a long week and TGIF as my intuition is guiding me to publish a personal post this morning. My new job is awesome, challenging and rewarding all at the same time with very few downfalls. However, I went from having all the free time in the world to having now very limited free time and for somebody who really enjoys researching, journaling and reading it’s now become a challenge on my days off to decipher whether to research, journal or read. It’s 5:55 am, nice angel number this morning, thank you. I wake up extra early in order to meditate and do what I gotta do to feel like I get my spiritual practices in before starting my work day.
In all fairness I picked up some extra shifts this week because it just felt like the right thing to do but at the end of the day I also have to gently remind myself the importance of balance and how it quickly can become out of whack if I’m not careful and at the end of an almost fifty hour week I sure am feeling it. I know there’s probably some people who are thinking welcome to the real world but in reality that’s not how God intended life to be lived and rest assured I’m no stranger to hard work so it’s cool.
That’s okay though because I do have the next two days off and am really looking forward to the airshow this weekend. There’s something about the sound of those jets that really gets my motor reving, I love it and can’t wait. Next week will be back to normal and I’m also looking forward to spending some time in Laguna Hills as my friend Stacy’s sister has another Airbnb out there. It’ll be interesting to see how much it’s changed as I spent many years living out there in my late twenties.
I’m off to work, if I can call it that, have a great day everybody and an even better weekend.
RIP Coolio. Gangsters paradise, classic 90’s hip hop but then again all 90’s hip hop is rad. 90’s were the best all around hands down.
