Mexico Loft House

What can I say, Las Floras (I think, it was south of Ensenada) didn’t disappoint. We stayed with Yugo Ministries, what an amazing experience, I feel so blessed to have been a part of it. Besides the obvious of giving to those less fortunate and taking it all in as a reminder to be grateful for the things we do have, the fellowship was next level as well. I definitely learned (some more) not to, I don’t really like saying judge a book by its cover because I don’t judge, but I learned not to have slightly preconceived notions about people I don’t know.

Meet Bo, our general contractor if you will…

At the build two weeks ago, I remember thinking to myself, “man, this guy’s bossy and a wee bit condescending, don’t think I wanna work with this guy.” Little did I know he turned out to be the most amazing guy who was yes a wee bit bossy and a wee bit condescending, but he was also the best teacher who harbored a tremendous amount of patience and a great sense of humor, not to mention outstanding leadership skills. He taught me how to frame a door, caulk windows and all there is to know in roofing 101. So grateful for his wisdom, knowledge and guidance, we were besties by the end of the day.

Then there’s Tara. I met her ten minutes before we departed and I was thinking, “man, she’s a little high maintenance, a little dingy, and she’s riding in our vehicle?” LOL Yes she rode sitting right next to me the whole way (and back) and yes she is a little high maintenance and definitely dingy. And I love it. I didn’t complain when I needed her nail clippers or borrowed her blow dryer and hairspray. We too were besties by the end of the trip sharing many stories and so much laughter.

People tend to forget, myself included, that when you have a problem, or issue, or concern with someone’s behavior you really need to take a look at yourself because it’s simply a reflection of your own behavior. Our entire life is a reflection of how we think and act. I just find it funny because at the end of the day I too can be a wee bit bossy, I CAN be condescending and also a handful and definitely dingy. At least I’ve got no qualms admitting it because it’s all with good intentions just like Bo and Tara.

The delivery and build were a huge success with one more family living with their very own roof over their head.

Like all experiences, I learned so much about myself and others and for that I say thank you.

Random pictures for your visual enjoyment.

The Federales…we saw them three times throughout our travels. I snuck this picture cause I was told not to take any of them but surprise, surprise I did anyway. Don’t tell Vickie but I took it from the back seat when nobody was looking. They’re pretty intense to say the least.

I’m pretty sure this was their equivalent to Kinkos because clearly they sold paper and copies here. And OMG the chicken truck, soooo funny. Over the loud speaker all I remember is, “POLLO POLLO POLLO.” These poor chickens had no idea this was the end of the line for them, they were about to be sold. “POLLO POLLO POLLO!” lol
