I open my eyes with gratitude,
Grateful for all I’ve learned.
I wake with anticipation,
Ready for all I’ve yearned.
Thank you for providing,
With every waking day.
Thankful for my future,
And it’s for that that I do pray.
This is only the beginning,
Excited for what’s in store.
Time to live my life,
With every open door.
Life lessons I have learned,
Some of them quite hard.
I know it’s all for purpose,
Can barely tell I’m scarred.
With courage, faith and hope,
I move forward towards a goal.
With help from my brigade,
And of course my heart and soul.
Yes I shed some tears,
Not saying it’s my last.
Grateful for my strength,
To leave ’em in the past.
Amazed about the present,
The moment here and now.
