Spirituality vs Religion

I attend a local church and absolutely adore it. A little over a month ago I locked my keys in my car and one of the members there was kind enough to call AAA. It was actually on a Sunday between services and while I sat there waiting for AAA I said to myself I’ll bet you there’s a message in there for me. So after unlocking my car, thanks Victor, I went in to hear the service and wouldn’t you know it, there was like twenty messages for me. Now they can’t get rid of me lol. I even signed up for not one but three bible classes because not only are the people genuinely nice people and I get a different message with each study but I want to learn the Bible. While I’m totally okay with teaching myself different things, the Bible isn’t one of ’em.

I asked a question the other night though because it’s a legit question and I was curious. Why do we only pray to God? I mean I get that He’s the most high and He’s the creator and all but you do know I said that we have numerous Angels, including Archangels (17 as of right now) that they all have jobs they’re particularly good at and ready to help. And the response I got in a nutshell was that because they can’t answer prayers, they’re only messengers and something about Catholicism. Um, I’m gonna have to disagree. I didn’t say that actually because I’m learning to keep certain things to myself these days because not everyone likes to agree to disagree and that’s okay but that’s still how I feel. To me it’s like a bomb-ass vegetarian lasagna, yes, because in order to create that deliciousness you need more than just noodles. You need a lot of other ingredients combined to come together to make a fantastic dish.

For me the same goes with the planet Earth and all the different aspects involving it. Yes I believe God is God, the most high, created everything and am confident when I say I’m pretty tight with Him, Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit. HOWEVER, I firmly believe in praying to Angels and can even say I’m living or have proof from my own eyeballs that they DO answer prayers and are just as important. Just like Mother Nature is important, so is the Universe and the Sun and the Moon and all the other planets because guess what, we need all of ’em to make this world go round. Or at least they all play their very own important roles and are all as equally important. But that’s just me.

While I find my church within somebody asked me why I attend if I don’t agree and the answers are simple. The people are amazing, the pastor is hysterical, the messages are even better, it raises my vibration, I want to learn the Bible and there’s no better place than a cool congregation filled with cool people. And most importantly my mother now sees the world through my eyes and I know for a fact that she is there with me because not only does my leg bounce up and down uncontrollably (an unconscious habit I suppose that my mother was notorious for doing. John and I both do it too occasionally) during service but when I laugh I often hear my moms laugh come out too. Not all the time but enough for me to notice and recognize. My mom was a little more “Godly” than I think anyone knew, but I know and it’s just another reason I enjoy going.
