We spent probably half a dozen nights in the parking lots of Cracker Barrels because they’re safe, located conveniently off freeways and they give you permission. I don’t know if you’ve ever been to multiple Cracker Barrels (in a short amount of time) but it’s kind of like a happy go lucky episode of the Twilight Zone, every gift shop is almost identical in its layout, they all look the same.
The gift shops are full of all kinds of cool merchandise, especially during the up and coming holiday season, but I tend to naturally gravitate to all things angels anyway. Christmas will forever remind me of my mom because it was her favorite time of year and she sure did love to decorate. Twice I walked right into a message from my mom who’s on the other side of the veil that put warmth in my heart, a smile on my face and a spring in my step. Spirit is always communicating with us one way or another.
I do believe Layton, Utah was the busiest one we stayed at. We rounded the corner after exiting the freeway and bam it was jam packed with everything from cars to vans to campers small and large. I do believe it was also in Layton that they left the music playing on the loud speaker all night long.
I woke up to the lyrics ‘back in your arms again, back in your arms again.” I must’ve heard back in your arms again a hundred times that morning. But that’s alright, there’s no doubt in my mind it was meant for me to hear because for one it brought peace to my mind and two, that was the only song I really heard heard if that makes sense. This song came in loud and clear while the rest were somewhat background noise.
Thank you Cracker Barrel for all my messages, your hospitality, clean bathrooms and friendly staff. And my new Christmas sweater, appreciate you.
