Know Thyself: Destiny North Node

They say when you understand your inner nature, recognizing how and where challenges arise, one can avoid hubris, or arrogant patterns. They also say that getting to know who you are on an intimate level signifies true wisdom and understanding of the world, and how it all begins with self-awareness. I couldn’t agree more because the more you get to know yourself the better you become. And when you’re the best version of you possible, you embody the change you want to see which affects not just everyone around you, but humanity as a whole.

Spirituality is all about self-discovery and figuring out not just who you are, but what you want to become. It’s about exploring all your avenues and going down rabbit holes to truly get to know thyself. It doesn’t even have to be ‘spiritual’ but it is deeply personal and unique to each individual. Learning who you are is imperative not just for a relationship with yourself but for quality relationships with others as well. One of the best ways to do this, in my opinion, is through astrology. I love astrology and simply can’t get enough. You could study astrology your whole life and still have something to learn, it’s quite vast information-wise.

I’ve been studying my birth chart for years now and if you ask me doing so is one of the best ways to get to know yourself. I was feeling a little ho-hum this morning when out of the blue in pops this idea to look up my North Node in Sagittarius. Before diving in I already knew the basics however I then spent the next two hours learning details that put so much into perspective, not to mention snapped me right out of my funk.

Your North Node is essentially your destiny. It’s your soul’s purpose, your destined path, and the new uncomfortable traits you’re meant to develop in this lifetime. Things you’re meant to experience to get you outside your comfort zone in order to push you towards fulfillment. Opposite the South Node of course which is your soul’s past and character traits you brought with you from past lives or early childhood, things that make you feel safe. The key is to outgrow, so to speak, these traits that keep you safe because you certainly don’t want to get stuck or stagnant.

The importance of any awakening is constant forward movement. You learn, you grow, you move forward. Period. You don’t waste your time dwelling on the past, or feeling say, silly for whatever mistakes you made because that’s literally how you grow. An awakening for me has been deeply spiritual, but it doesn’t have to be. It can last anywhere from a moment to a few weeks, or in my case a lifelong journey. It’s not a fixed destination, it’s a forward movement. It’s an experience that comes through you where you actively choose to connect more universally to everything around you.

It’s about recognizing there’s so much more to you than just being you. It’s a desire to want know more, to learn more and grow from it as a result. Every single soul on Earth has an innate desire to expand, whether you realize it or not. It’s why we’re here. Self-actualization is when you, in a sense, come back to life, it’s that spark of consciousness that exists in your body and around your body. It’s your energetic field and its connection to All That Is.

Now more than ever we’re able to tap into our individual potentials as souls, and as humans. In order to do all this though you have to tap into your inner light, to your inner truth and more importantly, tap into your heart. Transformation is an act of bravery where the goal is to walk this planet with a peaceful aura where nothing can touch you and nothing can rattle you. And in my opinion reading your birth chart is a great place to start, or in my case revisit for some refresher courses.

This North Node in Sag study just reminded me of my ‘fire trifecta’ combined with my Sun in Aries and Leo Rising. It helped motivate me as I find myself in the final weeks and months of this completion stage as I’m still being prepared for the next phase which is my new beginning. It put so much into perspective giving me that little push I need to keep going, to keep moving forward. Oftentimes the final pushes can be the most daunting and that’s exactly where I’m finding myself between not exercising, the achy ascension symptoms and the solitude, it can cause anyone to want to throw in the towel.

My North Node reminded me my journey’s all about moving away from the clutter of the mind and toward the higher, bigger picture. I am a seeker of truth and finding my voice, especially when it’s unpopular is a key to my success. I want the whole truth and nothing but the truth as anybody with a lot of Sagittarius anergy does. It’s takes time to filter through everything which is why I need to learn to go within so I can retrieve it myself. I’ve awakened to the universal truths and simply want to share.

Everything has been tainted and distorted in some way and I’m here to sift through it all to help deliver what’s true to me. Many won’t like my truth and that’s okay. It’s about choosing authenticity over popularity. This placement falls in my 4th House of home and foundations. Ironically enough my great adventure is more about going inward, from the social butterfly to the spiritual anchor which is exactly where I’m finding myself these days, at home and in solitude.

My challenge is to stop caring about what other people think about me which I’m getting better at. The fact that I live next door to the church I used to attend religiously (no pun intended), is no accident. It’s taking me out of my comfort zone and forcing me to be okay with other people thinking what they will, thinking they have to pray for me because I’ve lost my way. My focus needs to be on my inner world right now which is why I’m spending so much time at home, whether I like it or not.

My life mission is to pioneer a new way of living, a new way of life which is nothing new itself, I’ve felt that from day one. I’m meant to be a spiritual maverick who shows others it’s okay to go against the status quo and in fact we need to stand tall in our sovereignty in order to break free from the old system. I’m building my foundation based on truth and courage rather than feeling the need to fit in. I’m exactly where I’m supposed to be doing exactly what I’m meant to be.

My North Node also suggests my ideal career or occupation is to not only be one of service and expansion but to do so from the luxury of my home which in a way I’ve already accomplished. That’s actually a combination of my North Node with my 4 House and moon in Taurus. One thing that keeps me going is something I was told when I had my reading done after my mom passed. When I asked about my career she told me see saw me wearing a mouthpiece (microphone) working from home doing a customer service.

At the time I remember being like, customer service? How I interpreted the definition of customer service then is completely different to how I perceive it now. Today anything that assists or aids in the development or understandings of others is a service to me. Working from home to do it is definitely something the 4th House suggests. What makes even more sense is my independent Aries self finds that extremely attractive, and the fact that I’m just getting started with it makes me feel grateful as well.

I came here specifically to do things differently and right this second my job is to relax my nervous system, meditate to bring peace to my mind and go within because I already have all my answers just waiting to fully come online. Now is the time to dig deep and focus to the point of no distractions. Don’t think for a second all the busyness in my general vicinity (and neighborhood) is by accident either as I continue to master my mind right along with my thoughts. Digging deep gives me the ability to rise above all the noise knowing all too well that the only way out is through.
