I don’t even remember what I was listening to when I heard the term, but I can tell you it beyond piqued my curiosity and I was like, what’s esoteric astrology??? Two of my favorite words combined into one sentence, it doesn’t get much better than that for me. Let’s start with the basics and define what esoteric is because it can mean a couple things. It describes knowledge, information, or interests understood by or intended for only a small, specialized, or initiated group.
It’s often associated with the occult or secret societies, or anything clandestine or secretive. It can be cryptic and overly complicated not to mention philosophical and highly spiritual, or even mystical. For me, it’s information that’s been kept under wraps and away from the masses because it speaks a lot of truth which is exactly why I’m interested in it. I can’t help but feel as though it’s part of my blueprint to share it with the world, and quite frankly I’m tired of the Western Civilization being treated like we’re not smart enough to understand.
In my opinion, many esoteric traditions and teachings talk about what I call secrets to the universe which are basically how this world works, whether that’s universal laws and truths or simply understandings on how to get out of this mess that we’ve been forced to experience through manipulation and control. I personally think it’s rude that they keep information that’s pertinent to a happy successful life, that they keep it hidden from the general public.
It’s not necessarily hidden anymore, the information’s out there thanks to the internet, but generally speaking, most are still completely unaware. It goes back as far as the Knight’s Templar and freemasonry, and even further than that. It’s in religious circles as well. It’s basically information that tends to be mysterious or hard to understand. Take the Bible for example, it uses an esoteric system of interpretation. Many of the teachings (especially with Jesus) are hidden, or kept secretive through cryptic writings, or ask you to look for inner spiritual meanings just below the surface.
Gnosticism, Hermeticism, and even New Age and astrology can be considered esoteric. The term esoteric was coined in the 17th century from the Greek work meaning ‘inner’ but originated in the 2nd century from the same word, esoterikos, meaning belonging to an inner circle. This is the other way to describe it, especially when it comes to astrology.
Astrology by definition is the study of the planets and how they influence human affairs, along with understanding human personality. It’s considered a pseudoscience, of course it is, because the scientific community doesn’t like what it can’t explain. If you ask me, they don’t like it because it sure does speak a lot of truth. After researching esoteric astrology I was blown away at the accuracy of my own birth chart and all the additional information I discovered.
While the church frowns upon astrology, and if you ask me again, that’s because it speaks so much truth, why else would they have edited out the Book of Enoch. That’s just one reason it was omitted anyway, nevermind paleocontact, right? Jesus clearly says in Luke, ‘there will be signs in the sun, moon and stars’. In Daniel it says that astrology is among the modes of ‘knowledge and understanding’ that God’s prophet is taught.
Let’s not forget that we’re all made of the same stuff as the stars and planets, or that planets are beings as well and at the end of the day we are all connected. The Law of Divine Oneness is the foundation of all universal laws, teaching us that every single thing in the universe is interconnected. Everything is an extension and expression of the ultimate intelligence of creation, from the tiniest atoms to the planets, stars and species, everything is part of the greater unified whole.
Esoteric astrology is a spiritual form of astrology that focuses on the soul’s evolution and higher purpose rather than the personality traits or daily events. I personally found exploring basic astrology before tackling esoteric astrology to be helpful, it was nice to have the foundation of the zodiac signs first.
Esoteric astrology emphasizes the spiritual journey and the relationship between the soul and personality. This form of astrology seeks to understand one’s higher purpose and contribution to humanity’s evolution. Well, that’s all they had to say, sign me up, I love this shit!
Esoteric astrology is a soul-centered approach to astrology that draws on ancient wisdom and aims to provide insights into spiritual growth and development. It uses various tools such as meditation and visualizations to deepen the understanding of one’s birth chart. It interprets the positions of the celestial bodies as symbols of different stages in the soul’s journey, offering guidance on personal and spiritual development. It explores how shifts help bridge human identity with divine consciousness.
It offers profound insights into one’s spiritual path or purpose, helping individuals understand their soul’s evolution and the lessons they’re meant to learn in this lifetime. It emphasizes self-realization and a deeper connection with the universe in correlation with your own inner self. It aims to heal the relationship between the soul and personality, guiding individuals toward their higher selves.
Each zodiac sign has both exoteric (outer) planetary rulers and esoteric (inner) planetary rulers. Exoteric rulers reflect personality traits while esoteric rulers reveal spiritual aspects. While traditional (exoteric) astrology describes your outer personality (how you act and what happens to you) esoteric astrology, combined with traditional, treat the birth chart as a roadmap for the soul’s journey.
I always knew I was ruled by Mars which symbolizes action, conflict and the courage to face life challenges. It’s energy also represents personal strength and self-discipline, along with passion and assertiveness. With my esoteric ruler being Mercury, planet of the mind, it represents communication, intelligence, expression and transformation.
No wonder I get along really well with Gemini’s and Virgo’s. And no wonder I created a blog to not just express and heal myself but to share my journey with the world as well. That, and I like to say because my intuition made me do it. Mercury is also known as ‘the messenger of the gods’. Going one step further, my hierarchal planet is Uranus which represents the higher mind and intuition, often producing sudden insights and inspiration.
When someone is born with Uranus in Aries it expresses itself through consciously developing individuality in order to make a contribution to progress as a collective experience. It’s been called unity through effort which to me, just solidifies everything I’m going through, have gone through and is exactly why I’m here. I’m here to discover myself, raise my vibration so I can ultimately raise the collective consciousness, and my blog is the way I actively take action to express it.
In this system of esoteric astrology your Rising Sign is considered the most important because it reveals your soul’s purpose for this lifetime, whereas the Sun Sign represents the personality tools you use to get there. I always considered the Rising Sign to be of more importance and now I know why. It’s also why you need to know your exact birth time to have an accurate reading.
The Moon Sign is often referred to as ‘the prison of the soul’ because it represents past-life habits and unconscious instincts that you must transcend to reach higher conscious, which actually runs parallel with your South Node. Interestingly enough, in esoteric astrology there’s a hidden planet called Vulcan. It’s considered a sacred planet influencing transformation and the mineral kingdom.
Esoterically speaking, it’s positioned within the orbit of Mercury and is often seen as a planet of divine, albeit hidden, but potential. I couldn’t help but notice how familiar this word was and found myself asking if this was the same planet Spock was from. Google said it wasn’t the same however I call bullshit, but that’s just me. The information has to come from somewhere, someone always has some kind of (esoteric) insight. Fun fact, I recently learned George Lucas has Pleiadian connections.
In a nutshell, in esoteric astrology each sign has a soul-centered ruler that differs from the personality driven exoteric ruler used in traditional horoscopes. These planetary rulers represent the higher octave of the signs energy. In this context each zodiac sign also has a soul purpose as to why they incarnated and I took it upon myself to find each and every one.
ARIES: ruled by Mars and Mercury. The pioneering soul. Their soul purpose is to inspire others through divine thought and speech. To replace instinctual desire with Divine Will. To learn courage and birth new, innovative ideas that aid planetary evolution.
TAURUS: ruled by Venus and Vulcan. The grounded steward. Their soul purpose is to develop an ‘Iron Will’ and transform desire into spiritual aspiration. To transmute material attachment into spiritual aspiration. To build a life of self-worth and manage the Earth’s resources in alignment with a higher divine plan.
GEMINI: ruled by Mercury and Venus. The social messenger. Their soul purpose is to reach a higher love for ideas and unify the ‘twins’ which represent personality and soul, or dual personalities. To bridge gaps between people and act as a channel for Love-Wisdom. To explore the duality of life (light and shadow) to find a unifying truth through deep listening and conversation.
CANCER: ruled by the Moon and Neptune. The intuitive nurturer. Their soul purpose is to use imagination and intuition as soul nourishment. To realize the Oneness of all life. To use deep empathy to build safe emotional forms such as families, communities, and projects, all for the purpose of inspiring universal love.
LEO: ruled by the Sun and Neptune. The self-expressive soul. Their soul purpose is to illuminate others and transform from self-consciousness to group consciousness. To move from seeking personal applause to radiating Soul-Light. A leader of humanitarian groups, using perfected personality to manifest the collective will.
VIRGO: ruled by Mercury and the Moon. The refined healer. Their soul purpose is to express acts of selfless service and pure instinct. To embrace imperfection and be of service. To use your meticulous mind to provide structure and healing, helping to uplift and refine the world around you.
LIBRA: ruled by Venus and Uranus. The justice-seeking soul. Their soul purpose is to achieve balance through progressive decisions and spiritual intuition. To find inner balance and self-respect while maintaining connection. To prove that harmony isn’t just about keeping the peace, but about realizing self-worth within every relationship.
SCORPIO: ruled by Mars and Pluto. The alchemizing transformer. Their soul purpose is to fight for a divine cause and triumph over the lower self. To dive into life’s deepest truths to reclaim empowerment. To face shadows and rise stronger, helping others navigate their own rebirths.
SAGITTARIUS: ruled by Jupiter and Earth. The philosophical seeker. Their soul purpose is to ground spiritually and gain wisdom through earthly experiences. To find truth and meaning on a lifelong adventure. To point the way for others, turning your wanderings into wisdom that guides the human spirit.
CAPRICORN: ruled by Saturn. The divine builder. Their soul purpose is to establish rules for the collective good and serve humanity. To master perseverance and build something practical and lasting. To demonstrate that true success is only achieved when paired with emotional and spiritual fulfillment.
AQUARIUS: ruled by Saturn and Uranus. The eccentric awakener. Their soul purpose is to become a humanitarian and expand their wisdom from the multitudes. To champion collective change through unique individuality. To free itself and others from limiting expectations, serving as a pioneer for the ‘Age of Aquarius”.
PISCES: ruled by Jupiter, Neptune and Pluto. The mystical healer. Their soul purpose is to have a spiritual rebirth through the ‘death’ of the emotional attachments/limitations. To translate spiritual insights into tangible reality. To practice divine surrender, reminding the world through its actions that compassion is the ultimate law.
These are all generalized of course and are on a fundamental level but when I think about every single sign and then think of a person I know personally, they just make sense. When you combine my ‘Big 3’ which consists of my Sun Sign, Rising (Ascendent) and Moon, you get Aries, Leo and Taurus. I’m blown away at the accuracy, even with a simple generalization.
I’m basically here to inspire others through divine thought and speech, that pretty much speaks for itself, hence my awakening and insatiable thirst for knowledge and truth. Develop an iron will which basically means determined to do something regardless of how difficult it is or despite any opposition that may present itself. That explains my journey, even from the get go of my entire life, not to mention my awakening to hidden truths such as our galactic origins. What do you mean extraterrestrial hybrid? That doesn’t make me look crazy at all, right?
Divine Will is a big one for me. Instead of my own instinctual desires, I’m learning to transmute that into the highest from of creative impulse. It’s shifting from ‘I want’ to ‘what the soul knows is needed’. While my human will likes to seek comfort, security, or ego-driven goals, Divine Will aligns my actions with the greater evolutionary plan of the universe. For me, that means taking the spotlight off me and focusing it on humanity and what those needs are.
And last but not least, and according to esoteric astrology, my innate desire to illuminate the collective consciousness after transforming myself, not just on a soul level, but to Christ Consciousness and what it means to embody living as pure love in peace and unity. And then creating a blog to share my experiences (past and present) and document every step of the way…priceless. And why you ask, why do I do it all? Because…
